Who we are

The Junior Elite Hockey Experience

Founded in 2014, Junior Elite Hockey began as an independent team under Legacy Global Sports’ Selects Hockey Development (SHD) program. From SHD Philadelphia to SHD Mid-Atlantic and eventually SHD Americas, the program quickly grew in reputation and reach. When the COVID-19 pandemic led to Legacy Global Sports ceasing operations and SHD being sold to PLAY Hockey, Junior Elite Hockey continued independently—and flourished into a standalone program.

Junior Elite Hockey is invite-only, selecting players not only for skill but also for character and family values. Our players and families return year after year, drawn by the unique combination of elite hockey competition and unforgettable experiences.

Each Spring and Summer, Junior Elite assembles select teams for tournaments across the U.S., Canada, and Europe, giving players the chance to compete against top talent while exploring new cultures. Past destinations include Las Vegas, Lake Placid, Notre Dame University, Philadelphia, Boston, Jay Peak, Ottawa, Montreal, Pittsburgh, Nashville, Florida, Minnesota, University of Michigan, and Penn State University. Internationally, Junior Elite teams have toured Finland, Sweden, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, and Czechia.

What truly sets Junior Elite apart is our customized international experience. Every European tour is tailored to the personality and interests of the team, both on and off the ice. Players enjoy high-level competition, team bonding, and cultural experiences that are carefully crafted for each group.

Junior Elite Hockey is a non-profit program. Every dollar collected goes directly to supporting the players and their events, there is no profit margin. Our focus is entirely on creating exceptional hockey experiences. While we typically do not hold separate skills sessions, our practices occur at each tournament or tour location, maximizing meaningful ice time and competition.

With only 1–2 tournament opportunities each off-season, participation in Junior Elite Hockey is a rare and rewarding opportunity for young athletes and their families. Our commitment is to develop players, build character, and create lifelong memories.
